who was "margo jones"?
Margo Jones was a pioneering theatremaker who refused to accept business as usual.
When traditional Broadway structures limited the work she wanted to create, she built a new model. A true trailblazer, she was one of the only women directing on Broadway in the 1940s. A creative partner and champion of Tennessee Williams, she directed the Broadway premieres of The Glass Menagerie and Summer and Smoke.
She introduced theatre-in-the-round to the United States and helped spark the American regional theatre movement.
Her belief was radical in its simplicity:
great commercial theatre comes from taking risks.
That idea sits at the heart of our agency.
